Kelleys Island, Ohio

BY LANEY CORELL

Kelley’s Island in Ohio has everything from fishing, hiking, and beach yoga! I stayed in a rental home on Marble Head Ohio and took a ferry over to the island for a couple of days. Some of the great things to do their include long hikes through the glacier grooves. Also there vast canyons and rocks to climb, which make for great pictures! Also, they have a broad middle of town with a lot of shops and places to eat. One of the unique features of the island are the many golf carts, and the majority of people on the road don’t travel by car. Personally, my favorite part was riding the bikes through the beautiful rock beach facing Lake Erie.

Sydney Perrin, a frequent visitor, claimed, “I absolutely love the rocks and taking pictures there!”

The General store on the corner has ever travel necessity one could need, and a bunch of cute souvenirs. If you do go to the island, I highly recommend renting a kayak and traveling out on the water. Marble head, which is just a boat ride away, is also a great place to check out that is near Kelleys Island. It has many hikes and trails, and it is the perfect destination for a nature lover.

Avery Perrin claimed,” Nature is my favorite, and this is one of my favorite places!”

After a long days hike, check out many of the local restaurants! Some of them include Dockers and the Caddy Shack. If anyone is looking for a cheap, fun escape check out Kelleys island. It is perfect for all ages.
